HomeServicesChimneys and flues

Swept, tested and certificated in under an hour.

A clean flue is the difference between a fire that draws and a chimney fire. We sweep, smoke test and issue a certificate your insurer will accept.

Chimney sweeping

01

No mess

Sheets down, vacuum running throughout and the hearth left as we found it. Sweeping is the job people worry about and it should not be visible afterwards.

02

Certificate issued

You receive a sweeping certificate on the day, which most home insurers ask to see if you ever need to claim.

03

A proper look up the flue

While we are there we check the liner, the register plate, the pot and the rope seals, and tell you about anything that needs attention.

How often a Kent chimney needs sweeping

Wood burnt regularly through the winter means once a year, ideally before the season starts. Smokeless fuel means twice a year. If you burn every day from October to March, two sweeps a year is money well spent.

Signs you have left it too long include a smell of soot in the room, smoke pushing back when you light up, or a stove that will not run without the door ajar.

August to October is our busiest window by a distance. Book early and you will be swept before the first cold week rather than three weeks into it.

Questions we get asked.

How much does a chimney sweep cost?
Most single flue sweeps in our area sit in the region of seventy pounds, including the certificate. Ring us with your postcode for a firm price.
Will it make a mess?
It should not. We sheet the area, seal the opening and run a vacuum for the whole visit.
Do you sweep chimneys you did not install?
Yes, we sweep any domestic chimney or stove flue across Kent and the south east.
