The look of a real fire, without the log basket.

For flats, new builds and anybody who would rather press a switch than carry logs, a modern gas or electric fire gives you real flame effect and instant heat.

Gas and electric fires

01

Balanced flue and flueless

Balanced flue gas fires vent straight through an outside wall. Flueless models need no flue at all, only the right ventilation.

02

Electric with no building work

Electric fires and inset panels run from a standard socket, which makes them ideal for upstairs rooms, flats and rented homes.

03

Fitted by registered engineers

Gas work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers and everything is tested and certificated before we leave.

Which type suits your room

If you have a working chimney, a conventional flue gas fire is the simplest swap and gives the most convincing flame. Where there is no chimney but you have an outside wall, a balanced flue model takes its air in and sends its fumes out through one twin skinned pipe.

Electric is the answer where neither is possible. Modern units have moved a long way past the orange bar fire, with layered flame effect, log or crystal beds and separate heat control so you can run the flame in summer with the heat off.

Bring photographs and rough measurements of the opening to the showroom and we will tell you within minutes what will fit.

Questions we get asked.

Can I have a gas fire without a chimney?
Yes. A balanced flue fire vents through the outside wall behind it, and a flueless fire needs no flue at all, only adequate ventilation in the room.
Do electric fires give real heat?
They do, typically up to two kilowatts, which is enough to take the chill off a living room. They are not usually a whole house heating solution.
Do gas fires need servicing?
Once a year, like a boiler. We service the fires we install and keep a record of the visit for you.
