An engineer replacing the door rope seal on a cast iron wood burning stove
HomeServicesInstallation and service

Rope, glass, baffles and the annual once over.

Stoves are simple machines with a handful of parts that wear. Looked after once a year, a good stove will outlast the room around it.

Servicing and repairs

01

Annual service

Rope seals checked, baffle and grate inspected, glass cleaned, door adjusted and air controls freed off, with the flue swept at the same visit.

02

Any make, any age

We service and repair stoves we did not install, including older models where the manufacturer has long gone.

03

Parts in stock

Rope, cement, glass cut to size, baffles and grates for the brands we hold, usually available from the showroom the same day.

When a stove needs attention

Glass blackening quickly, a door that no longer closes tight, a fire that will not settle down when the air is closed, or a smell of smoke in the room. All of these point to seals, baffles or the flue rather than the stove itself.

A service takes around an hour on most appliances and is best booked before the season starts rather than in the middle of a cold snap.

Where a part is genuinely beyond repair we will say so, and offer up to fifty pounds against a replacement through our stove scrappage offer.

Questions we get asked.

How often should a stove be serviced?
Once a year for wood, twice a year alongside sweeping if you burn smokeless fuel heavily.
Can you replace stove glass?
Yes, cut to size for most models, usually within a few days and sometimes from stock.
My stove was fitted by someone else, will you look at it?
Of course. A good proportion of our service work is on stoves we did not supply.

Speak to a person

Whatever you are planning, start here.

Homeowners, builders, landlords and architects all begin the same way: a conversation. Tell us a little about the room or the project and we will come back with honest advice and one clear price in writing.

  1. 01

    We listen first

Tell us about the room or the project, not the budget. We will ask what it needs to do.

  2. 02

    We come and look

A proper survey, free of charge, with the chimney and ventilation checked before anything is quoted.

  3. 03

    One clear price

Everything in writing, stove to certificate, with nothing added later.
