A wide ribbon of flame under the screen.

A recessed electric fire running the width of the wall, with the television set above it and the cabling hidden inside the build. Contemporary, warm and simple to live with.

Media walls

01

Designed around your room

We work to the wall you have, setting the fire and screen heights so you are not looking up at the television from the sofa.

02

Cool to the touch above

Media wall fires vent their heat forward and low, which keeps the screen recess at a safe temperature.

03

Finished properly

Framing, boarding, plastering and a socket where you need it, so the wall arrives ready for decoration rather than half built.

What a media wall involves

The build is a studwork frame, fire resistant board and a plaster skim, with the fire and the television recess set out first so everything lines up. Power and aerial feeds are run inside the wall to the recess.

Widths run from around one metre to well over two, in one, two or three sided glass. We will show you the difference in the showroom, because the wider units read very differently once they are lit.

Most media walls are completed in two to three days on site, including the plastering, and we leave the surface ready for your decorator.

Questions we get asked.

Is a television safe above an electric fire?
Yes, when the fire is designed for it and the recess is set at the height the manufacturer specifies. We follow those clearances exactly.
Can a media wall be built in a rented home?
It is a permanent build, so you would need the landlord's agreement. A freestanding electric stove is the easier alternative.
Do you plaster and decorate?
We build, board and plaster. Decoration is usually left to you or your own decorator once the plaster is fully dry.
