Twin wall flue systems
01
Internal or external
Internal runs keep the flue warm and give the best draw. External runs avoid disturbing bedrooms and are quicker to install.
02
Height and clearance calculated
Regulations govern how far the terminal must sit above the roof and away from windows. We set that out before quoting.
03
Weathered properly
Flashings, storm collars and fire stops fitted correctly, so the roof stays watertight for the life of the flue.

Where twin wall makes sense
New builds, extensions, garden rooms, barn conversions and any older cottage where the chimney was taken out years ago. If there is a route from the stove to open air, there is usually a way to fit a flue.
Twin wall is more expensive than lining an existing chimney because the pipe itself is a manufactured, insulated system, but the result is a flue built exactly for the appliance rather than a compromise around old brickwork.
We install complete systems from stove to terminal, including any framing, boxing and making good needed inside the house.
Book a free surveyQuestions we get asked.
- Does twin wall flue need planning permission?
- Usually not on a standard house, but listed buildings and conservation areas often do. We will flag it at survey.
- How much of the room does it take up?
- The pipe is around twenty five centimetres across including insulation, and internal runs are normally boxed in and plastered.
- Can it go through a flat roof?
- Yes, with the correct flashing and fire stop details, and with the terminal set at the required height above the roof surface.
